Project 2 - Grade II Listed Building, Liverpool
We were approached by Arcus Consulting to supply aluminium windows and aluminium doors to one of Liverpool’s Grade 11 listed Georgian buildings. The property was on the Building at Risk Register and its façade had to be preserved as it was located in an area containing unique architectural characteristics.
What We Did
We provided the city council with a life-cycle cost analysis and worked with its principal conservation officer to come up with a cost-effective solution that satisfied the strict planning regulations required. That meant providing sample-windows with integral back-to-back spacer bars within the sealed glazed units and powder-coated astragal bars that blended in with the Georgian building.
Once we were given the go-ahead, we manufactured more than 40 Sapa Dualframe windows in a RAL 7016 dark-grey powder coated finish and two aluminium doors. The windows had a slim profile with a narrow casement opening for extra elegance, as per the planning department’s requirements.
The building was taken off the at Risk Register and has been reinstated as temporary supported accommodation by its owners, the Riverside Group.
