Fade to Grey

PVC-U windows in two shades of grey were supplied by Liverpool-based trade fabricator Total Glass and installed by Cheshire Windows to meet the specific design requirements of a new student accommodation complex in the city centre.

A total of 519 casement and tilt n turn windows, in light and dark grey foils
on white, were fitted in the Opal Court, London Road buildings, which also incorporate fitness facilities and a swimming pool.

Roy Barry, Project Manager at Cheshire Windows said the grey shades were specified to match the external facades featuring terracotta and Falzinc metal cladding. An unusual feature of the development is the retention of the ornate Victorian Prince of Wales public house façade fronting the main street, with the courtyard-style accommodation sited to the rear.

Explains Roy: "Grey was specified for the window frames to complement the contemporary design of the five-storey accommodation blocks and to provide
a sympathetic contrast with the external cladding materials.

"Total Glass assisted us with the architect's specification for the colours and security requirements, such as locking handles and restrictors on all the windows. The sheer volume of frames required meant it was feasible for us to supply the special shades foiled on quality Profile 22 70mm profile, which give an excellent finish and exactly meet the client's requirements," adds Roy.

Assistance on projects of all sizes is available to customers of Total Glass, such
as Cheshire Windows, through its Business Plus support packages which help to ensure success from concept to completion. From specification advice to marketing and lead generation support, Total Glass offers much more than
just windows, doors and conservatories.
